Comprehension — Read the passage and answer questions 11 to 16.
It was already past midnight but Tim could not sleep. As he lay in the hospital bed, he kept thinking about what had happened that day…
It was another quiet afternoon. Tim and his team had just returned from lunch. As they were about to start a game of arm wrestling, the alarm rang.
"Action-packed time, guys! Let's swing into it!" Tim's partner, John, commanded.
Without delay, everyone grabbed their fire-proof vests and helmets. As they ran, they hurriedly pulled up their fire-proof boots. One by one, they slid down the pole and jumped onto the vehicle.
Upon their arrival, they noticed people running helter-skelter. There was an explosion and shards of glass were scattered everywhere. Some people were bleeding while others were hysterical. Suddenly, Tim felt a tug at his elbow.
"My granddaughter is still trapped in the building… please, please look for her," an old lady broke down and sobbed aloud.
Tim comforted her for a while before leading her to safety. He and John then entered the burning building to look for trapped victims. They stepped on the debris cautiously as they moved. Just as they thought they could leave, they heard a faint cry.
"Help me… help me, please!" The duo moved towards the sound. They spotted a young lady trapped under a concrete slab. They rushed forward to help her. Unfortunately, their movements triggered another explosive and it went off. The force of the blast flung John and Tim some distance away from where the victim was trapped. Due to the injuries they sustained from the explosion, both of them fainted shortly after.
When Tim regained consciousness, he found himself swaddled in bandages. He turned to see John sleeping soundly on the bed beside him. He smiled and sighed, "Well, at least you are snoring and alive, my pal."
