What subjects and papers are in the PSLE?

The PSLE tests four subjects: English Language, Mother Tongue (Chinese, Malay or Tamil), Mathematics, and Science. Each subject contributes one Achievement Level (AL1–AL8) to the PSLE Score. English and Mother Tongue include oral and listening components in addition to written papers.

Components within each subject

English and Mother Tongue are made up of writing, language use and comprehension, listening comprehension, and oral. Mathematics has a paper without a calculator and a paper with one. Science is a single combined paper covering the five MOE themes.
