Which hand is the HOUR hand?

The hour hand tells the hour

When the minute hand points straight up to 12, we say "o'clock". Read the number the short hour hand points at.

What time is this?

A new time appears after each correct answer. Try a few!

Each number = 5 minutes

The minute hand moves around the same numbers, but each step counts 5 minutes. Tap the numbers in order to count: 5, 10, 15…

Counted so far: 0 min

Start at the 1 (that's 5 minutes) and keep going.

Special spots: o'clock & half past

Minute hand on 12 = o'clock. Minute hand on 6 = half past (30 minutes). Tap a button to move the minute hand and watch!

3 o'clock

Put it together

Read the hour from the short hand, then the minutes from the long hand. Here it's half past — the minute hand is on 6.
