Let's learn guitar!

Hello, future guitar player!

A guitar makes music when you press the strings with one hand and strum them with the other. By the end of this lesson you will know the parts, make a real chord shape, and strum a steady beat.

How to hold it 🧍

Good posture makes playing easy and comfy. Sit up tall, rest the curve of the guitar on your leg, and let the neck point slightly up.

Strings and frets 🎼

The metal bars across the neck are called frets. Pressing a string just behind a fret changes the note. Closer to the body = higher sound!

Tap a square to press that fret and hear which note rings out.

Build an Em chord ✨

A chord is a few strings pressed together to make a full, rich sound. E minor (Em) is the easiest — you press just two dots. Tap the two correct circles to place your fingers!

🎸 That's an Em chord! Strum it and it sounds amazing.

Strum a steady beat 👋

Strumming means brushing all the strings together. The secret is keeping a steady beat — not too fast, not too slow. Swipe (or click) across the bar 4 times, like counting 1 - 2 - 3 - 4.
