Your eyes are like little balls that roll around inside your head. You can look left or right without moving your head at all.
But an owl can't do that. Its eyes are shaped like long tubes, packed tightly into its skull. They cannot roll around!
So to look in a different direction, an owl must turn its whole head. That is why it became a champion head-turner!
